Loaned Sweatshirt Leads to Robbery Arrests

Well Guess this just goes to show you, never borrow anyone anything with your name on it! And if you do make sure you get it back as soon as possible. I can't believe how many people they had to go thru to just find one sweatshirt. But looks to me like they got lucky as, this isn't always the case in something like this...

DUBUQUE, Iowa;"A sweatshirt loaned to a friend two years ago led to the arrest of two people for a series of robberies in Indiana. High School soccer player Adam Schmerbach said he loaned his sweatshirt, with his name and number on it, to a friend because it was cold out. "I actually forgot about it," he said. But then he got a call from a police investigator. It turned out the friend that borrowed the sweatshirt passed it on to an Indiana man who had ties to Iowa. That man, in turn, had a roommate who took it when he moved out, police said. That roommate, Haycraft, and another young man, Devore were arrested last month for six armed robberies They made off with about $5,000 in cash and cartons of cigarettes, authorities said. They were arrested after surveillance cameras at one of the store's that was robbed showed one of the men, later identified as Haycraft, wearing Schmerbach's -school-sweatshirt, police said. It was during that search that investigators found Schmerbach's sweatshirt and a car matching the description of one used in the robberies. Inside the car, investigators found a shotgun and two ski masks, authorities said. Police said it's unknown when, and if, Schmerbach will get his sweatshirt back because it's being held as evidence in the case."
